# Computer Sleep Mode

We recommend disabling sleep mode on your computer while using MotiveWave. By default most operating systems will disconnect all networking during sleep mode which will disconnect you from your broker/data connection.

In Windows this can be found in Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Advanced power settings.

In macOS this can't be acheived natively. However, there are numerous applications that can be used for this functionality. The Amphetamine app works well for this: <https://apps.apple.com/us/app/amphetamine/id937984704?mt=12>
