# What Is Compact Mode for Chart Windows?

Compact mode is a very useful feature for charts. This mode maximizes the use of screen space by removing the title bar, menu bar, tool bar and status bar. Compact mode is particularly useful when displaying several charts on a screen at the same time.

A chart may be toggled between compact and normal mode by using the F7 or fn+F8 key combination for MotiveWave version 6 and F8 or fn+F8 for version 7. You can also use the Esc button to get out of the Compact mode.
