# Add a Symbol to a Watch List

When you create a workspace, several default watch lists will be created for you. The available watch lists will depend on the broker and/or data service that you selected. If you would like to add a symbol to an existing watch list, click on menu list ( the three horizontal lines icon) then select the Search/Add Instrument button in the Watch List tool bar to open the **Search for Instrument** dialog.

You can also search or add an instrument to the watchlist by scrolling to the bottom of the chart and use the drop down list or the Search button:
